Spokane man spreads message of love on billboards.

SPOKANE, Wash. -

Meet John Pogachar. He is a retired Nordstrom shoe salesman turned life coach with a dream spreading love throughout Spokane, and eventually, he hopes the country, and he's spreading his message one billboard at a time "As that spun down and you just see that word that magic word love it just amazing. I've got this huge chill in my body," said John Pogachar, the man behind the "Love" message on billboards.

Pogachar says the idea came to him while on an August retreat in California meditating in nature and listening to the trees. He decided to throw down his own money for just one and see what happened.

"It's like 'OK, I want to put love on a billboard' and it's like 'OK, can you do that?' and it's like. 'Yeah I think I can do that,'" said Pogachar.

But he sat on the idea until recently, when a gunman opened fire at a Jewish temple in Pittsburgh where 11 people were killed because of their religion. Pogachar knew he had to fight hate with love.

So he and a friend started to work to get that message out.  From Spokane to all the way to Pittsburgh. 

"We had already started to put up billboards and thought I've got money in my PayPal account from people who have already donated to Love On Every Billboard, so we decided why not put one up there and just give that message from Spokane to Pittsburgh," said Pogachar.

"This is what we are here for, what we're here for is love. It's there for you no matter what your religion. It fills up my heart, and I'm sure it fills yours up, too," John added.

When friends heard about this, they all decided to help from donations to the website. John says he isn't just stopping his message here in Spokane and Pittsburgh. Pogachar is now in the works to put one up in Thousand Oaks, California, near the site of Thursday morning's mass shooting "This is what we are here for what we're here for is love. It's there for you no matter what your religion. It fills up my heart, and I'm sure it fills yours up, too," John added.
